Getting Started as a JitaRun Runner

A comprehensive guide to becoming a JitaRun Runner. Learn how to earn ISK by delivering, subcontracting, or keeping buyback contracts in EVE Online.

Runners are the execution layer of JitaRun. When players dump their loot into our buyback service, those contracts need someone to accept them, move the items safely, and return them to a monitored JitaRun hangar for payout. As a Runner, you front the contract acceptance, handle the logistics, and get paid by JitaRun once your delivery is verified.

What Does a Runner Actually Do?

When a seller uses JitaRun's appraisal tool, they get a buyout price and issue an in-game item exchange contract to our corp. That contract hits the Runner Dashboard showing the upfront cost, expected payout, estimated margin, volume, and route context.

The standard happy path looks like this:

  1. Accept a matched contract — Open the contract from the dashboard and accept it in EVE on your linked JitaRun corp character.
  2. Wait for delivery tracking — Once ESI sees that the contract finished, JitaRun creates a pending delivery for the items tied to your runner character.
  3. Move the items — Haul them yourself or subcontract the hauling leg to a service like Red Frog or PushX.
  4. Drop them into a monitored hangar — Request an assigned JitaRun hangar, deposit the items, and confirm the dropoff.
  5. Get queued for payout — JitaRun verifies the dropoff after the next eligible asset scan, then creates or updates your withdrawal request automatically.

How to Get Started

  1. 1

Log in and link your runner character

Head to JitaRun and authenticate. Then open the Runner Dashboard and link the character you will use to accept contracts. JitaRun uses that runner token to open contracts in the EVE client and associate accepted contracts with your account.

  2. 2

    Browse the board

Open the Runner Dashboard to view the live feed of matched contracts. Each listing breaks down:

    • The contract price and expected payout.
    • The item list and total volume (m³).
    • The pickup system and jumps to Jita.
    • Your estimated runner margin and route context.
  3. 3

    Accept the contract in-game

Find a route and margin you like? Open the contract from the dashboard, then accept it in-game on your linked JitaRun.com corp character. You are paying the seller the appraised ISK value out of your own wallet, and the items transfer to your possession immediately.

  4. 4

Wait for the delivery to appear

After ESI confirms the contract finished, JitaRun creates a pending delivery for that contract. The Deliveries tab shows the items, pending payout value, progress, and expiry window so you know exactly what still needs to be returned.

  5. 5

Request a dropoff hangar and move the items

When you are ready to hand the goods back, request a monitored dropoff hangar from the Deliveries tab. JitaRun assigns you a specific hangar division, you move the items there, and then you hit Confirm Dropoff.

  6. 6

    Let JitaRun verify the dropoff

If the corp asset cache is already expired, JitaRun kicks off verification immediately in the background. If not, your dropoff is queued until the next eligible asset scan. Once the scan confirms the items, JitaRun updates your delivery progress, credits your payout, and automatically creates or updates your withdrawal request.

Hauler Cheat Sheet

Depending on where the contract is, you'll need the right tool for the job.

For highsec routes, standard T1 and T2 industrials are your bread and butter:

ShipMax Cargo CapacityNotes
Bestower~35,000+ m³ (Expanded)Excellent T1 bulk hauler.
Epithal~67,500 m³ (PI Hold)Specialized hold for planetary commodities.
Occator~62,500 m³ (Fleet Hangar)Deep Space Transport (DST). Extremely tanky.
Impel~62,500 m³ (Fleet Hangar)The Amarr DST. Built like a brick.

How to Maximize Your Margins

If you want to scale this up, keep these mechanics in mind:

  1. Batch your pickups — Don't fly 15 jumps for one cruiser hull. Let contracts sit until you can fill your hold in a single region, then sweep them all up at once.
  2. Use a webbing alt — If you are flying a standard Freighter (Providence, Charon, etc.), use an alt in a web-bonused ship (like a Rapier or Hyena) to web your freighter as it aligns. This pushes you into warp instantly and saves hours of travel time.
  3. Keep your deliveries moving — Pending deliveries have expiry windows, and a hangar assignment only lasts through the next asset scan. Don't accept more than you can realistically return.
  4. Factor in collateral — If you are subcontracting to PushX or another hauler, remember that high-value contracts require high collateral, which increases the courier fee. Run the math before accepting.
