Getting Started as a JitaRun Runner

A comprehensive guide to becoming a JitaRun Runner. Learn how to earn ISK by delivering, subcontracting, or keeping buyback contracts in EVE Online.

Runners are the heavy lifters of JitaRun. When players dump their loot into our buyback service, those assets need to be moved to a trade hub to realize their value. As a Runner, you buy these pending contracts at a calculated discount, handle the logistics to get them to market, and pocket the profit margin.

What Does a Runner Actually Do?

When a seller uses JitaRun's appraisal tool, they get a buyout price and issue an in-game item exchange contract to our corp. That contract hits our internal board showing the upfront cost, the estimated Jita sell value, and your expected margin.

Once you buy the contract, you own the items. You generally have three plays:

  1. Haul and liquidate — Move the goods to Jita (or Amarr/Dodixie) and sell them yourself. This yields the highest margin but requires you to do the flying.
  2. Subcontract it out — Spin up a courier contract to Red Frog or PushX. You pay their hauling fee, don't have to undock, and keep the leftover margin.
  3. Keep the loot — If the contract is full of doctrine ships, ammo, or minerals you actually need, you just bought them below Jita sell value. Enjoy the discount.

How to Get Started

  1. 1

    Log in with EVE SSO

Head to JitaRun and authenticate. We only request basic ESI scopes to verify your character—no access to your wallet balance, mails, or asset lists.

  2. 2

    Browse the board

Open the contracts page to view the live feed of pending buybacks. Each listing breaks down:

    • The item list and total volume (m³).
    • The pickup system and jumps to Jita.
    • Your estimated profit margin.
    • A basic route risk rating.
  3. 3

    Buy the contract in-game

Find a route and margin you like? Log into your JitaRun.com corp character and accept the contract in-game. You are paying the seller the appraised ISK value out of your own wallet, and the items instantly transfer to your hangar.

  4. 4

    Handle the logistics

Since you own the items now, you can contract them to your dedicated hauling alt to avoid war targets or gankers eyeing the corp ticker. Track your active hauls in the Runner Dashboard to keep your logistics organized.

  5. 5

    Cash out

Dock up in your trade hub of choice, sell the items on the market, and take your profit. The dashboard tracks your historical performance so you can see your actual ROI versus the estimates.

Hauler Cheat Sheet

Depending on where the contract is, you'll need the right tool for the job.

For highsec routes, standard T1 and T2 industrials are your bread and butter:

ShipMax Cargo CapacityNotes
Bestower~35,000+ m³ (Expanded)Excellent T1 bulk hauler.
Epithal~67,500 m³ (PI Hold)Specialized hold for planetary commodities.
Occator~62,500 m³ (Fleet Hangar)Deep Space Transport (DST). Extremely tanky.
Impel~62,500 m³ (Fleet Hangar)The Amarr DST. Built like a brick.

How to Maximize Your Margins

If you want to scale this up, keep these mechanics in mind:

  1. Batch your pickups — Don't fly 15 jumps for one cruiser hull. Let contracts sit until you can fill your hold in a single region, then sweep them all up at once.
  2. Use a webbing alt — If you are flying a standard Freighter (Providence, Charon, etc.), use an alt in a web-bonused ship (like a Rapier or Hyena) to web your freighter as it aligns. This pushes you into warp instantly and saves hours of travel time.
  3. Patience on the market — Don't just dump everything to buy orders in Jita unless you need the liquid ISK immediately. Setting up sell orders increases your final cut significantly.
  4. Factor in collateral — If you are subcontracting to PushX, remember that high-value contracts require high collateral, which increases the courier fee. Run the math before buying.
